JADE HERNANDEZ, during her decades long journalism career, has spent more time telling stories in California than anywhere else, including her home state of Kansas. Hernandez will tell you, “It’s California’s diversity in both landscape and people that keep pulling me back to the Golden State.” A 3rd generation Mexican-American, Hernandez started reporting in Topeka, Kansas, where she was born and raised. Since then, she’s worked in Kansas City, Atlanta, Chicago, L.A. and San Francisco. She joined the Audacy family last January when she started reporting for KCBS All-News Radio as a reporter. During the pandemic, she was both part-time teacher to her son while he attended elementary school via Zoom and student, herself, as she earned her Master’s Degree online from the University of Kansas in Digital Content Strategy. Hernandez is a dynamic reporter for KCBS Radio.
