SANDRA CERVANTES, the 5 and 6 p.m. evening anchor at KSTS Telemundo 48, is a highly accomplished journalist with twenty Emmy® awards to her name. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Florida International University. Cervantes launched her career in 2010 at KUNP Univision Portland, later advancing to Univision 19 in Sacramento as a producer and weekend anchor. In April 2018, she joined KSTS Telemundo 48 as a news anchor and producer. Cervantes actively engages in Bay Area community events, supporting various local causes. She is the youngest of three daughters in a loving Mexican family, she attributes her success to familial support, love, and education
